Employer branding video: a guide for HR teams
Updated on
Employer branding video means content in which a company's own people show what it is like to work there: the culture, the teams, the projects and the career paths. Candidates get to know the company from the inside before they apply, and employees see their work recognised. At NECULA Agency, an employer branding video campaign runs for 6 months and includes more than 80 videos, published on 5 platforms.
What is employer branding video, and how does it support the employer brand?
Employer branding is the way a company builds and communicates its employer brand, its reputation as a place to work. Video shows it through real people: colleagues telling their stories, teams at work, projects the company is involved in.
Video gives the EVP, the employee value proposition, a face. The answer to “why would I work here?” comes from the company's own people.
Employer branding videos speak to candidates and employees at the same time. Candidates see real career paths and the atmosphere in the team. Employees receive recognition for their work.
NECULA Agency's employer branding division, employer-branding.ro, works with 5 video types and publishes the videos on YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The agency is led by director Tedy Necula and handles every campaign, from script to publishing.

How a 6-month employer branding video campaign runs
A campaign runs for 6 months and includes more than 80 videos, on average 3 a week, across the 5 platforms. The first videos are ready in five weeks.
Your HR team takes part at four moments: a 30-minute conversation at the start, one round of feedback on the scripts, the filming days at your offices and one round of feedback on the videos. The agency handles everything else: scripts, filming, editing, colour grading, sound design, subtitles and publishing.
The videos follow your group's brand guidelines. The proposal with budget and timeline comes after the first conversation, in the format your procurement team needs.
The budget is spread across the 6 consecutive months of the collaboration. The campaign can be funded from the disability fund, and NECULA Agency is an Authorised Protected Unit (Unitate Protejată Autorizată). The details are in the Funding section.
Filming with your employees: GDPR consent and approvals
- 1
Scripts approved in advance
Your company approves the scripts before filming.
- 2
Only those who want to take part
Taking part is voluntary: only the employees who want to appear in the videos do.
- 3
Preparation before filming
Everyone is prepared in advance, and the filming is short.
- 4
Signed GDPR consent
Every person filmed signs a consent form stating where the footage is used and for how long. You receive the forms in advance, and your own template can be used.
- 5
Restricted areas
Filming also takes place on production floors, in banks and in medical centres, under NDA.
- 6
Approval before publishing
You approve every video before it is published. Nothing appears without your consent, and if someone changes their mind, their footage is removed.
The monthly report of an employer branding video campaign
Each month you receive a report: what was published, where, and how many people saw it. The report can be passed on to your colleagues in management.
